The present hospital opened in 1977 and was named after Aruba’s first medical doctor Dr. H.E. Oduber. Before the hospital opened its doors, Dr. Oduber treated his patients at his home. (Quinta del Carmen in Bubali) The building still exists and has been restored to its original state by a local architect who still lives there.
